In-home continues to be the key location for prepared fruit consumption for 84% of consumers with breakfast, lunch and snacking the main meal occasions. Fruit types such as pomegranate seeds and coconut also play a role in scratch cooking.
Larger pack formats have been most resilient to the Covid-19 impact with large and extra large pots accounting for 42% of sales in the last year.
Platters at +38.1% sales growth YoY along with seasonal bowls are fundamental to this strong performance.
Solo fruit pots dominate market performance with a 57.4% share of sales in the last year driven by consumer cost motivations with solo typically 19% cheaper than either mixed or value added pots. Growth has been led by pomegranate seeds and watermelon.
