Spork the difference

Say goodbye to the Spork, a cross between a ‘spoon and a fork’ which has historically been included in our ready to eat prepared fruit packs to facilitate the eating experience.

As part of our ongoing mission to reduce plastic in our supply chain, and in conjunction with our retail partners, we decided it was time to say goodbye to the spork. In doing so we have eliminated a potential 52 million sporks (62 tonnes worth of single-use plastic) from our packs in the last 18 months.

Furthermore we conducted research, using our own consumer panel, along with in-store trials to understand the impact of removing sporks; there have been zero complaints whilst product sales have not been adversely affected as consumers to enjoy prepared fruit as both an on-the-go and in-home snack.
