Our factory consists of dedicated storage areas for specific raw materials, this fruit is then transferred into our segregated areas for pre-processing, washing and decontamination, the fruit is then transferred into our high-care areas where the fruit is peeled, chopped by our experienced team and finally packed through our heat-sealing machinery using specifically made film, which allows for better conservation of our products, enabling them to stay fresh throughout shelf-life.
The quality standards and systems in place are set according to the strict regulations and protocols developed by PrepWorld to serve our customers. Our prepared fruit site has been BRC accredited and has been awarded the highest possible grade by the certification: AA+. Achieving this accreditation means that our services have met the strict requirements within the industry, guaranteeing compliance with food safety and hygiene standards for our customers. PrepWorld are also BSI OHSAS 18001:2007 certified, allowing us to achieve the best possible working conditions and workplace health and safety, aligned to internationally recognised best practice.
At PrepWorld we are continually innovating as we understand the importance of not standing still. The prepared fruit market is constantly evolving and consumer preferences are always changing. We use new technologies and exciting fruits to provide the very best eating experience within our current range and to create new products that our customers will love.
In addition to our leadership in berries, we have a strength in pomegranate and coconut production where we have invested to be able to supply the market with the freshest, season’s best product. As part of a wider fruit group, PrepWorld have always focused on procurement, in particular the sourcing of higher value, seasonal fruit, typically under-served in the prepared market.
This focus has led both to the creation of highly popular seasonal fresh-cut ranges, showcasing fruits as wide-ranging as figs, cherries, pluots, pears, raspberries, apricots and prepared banana. This innovation is underpinned by a focus on technical controls and standards to ensure a safe, high quality, fresh product.
