Our Head of Procurement, Alberto Moreda Álvarez, enjoyed a different kind of site visit last week as he was invited to talk about all things fresh fruit at local Sedleys Church of England Primary School.
Being community minded forms part of our core values and ways of working here at PrepWorld so it was an absolute pleasure to be invited down to Sedleys School as highlighted by Alberto “We love to support local schools and do our little bit to educate on healthy eating and how important the food sector is in the country”
School teacher Lauren Longhurst shared the enthusiasm of the visit "I loved how the session was so informative for both children and adults alike. Alberto was fantastic at giving the children visuals and examples of some of the work that goes on at PrepWorld, from preparing fresh fruits, working in partnership with farmers, to showing pictures of farmers across the world and where the farms sit on the world map. The PrepWorld team were so patient with the age-appropriate comments and questions"
Alberto did well with an age-appropriate response when asked if the popular pomegranate was a red onion.
We think it's never early enough to start learning about the foods on our plates and look forward to meeting more young foodies in the future.
